Women of Dignity

WestCare Illinois’s (WCIL) Women of Dignity Program at Logan Correctional Center provides access to quality substance use disorder (SUD) services to 130 women giving them the opportunity to change and enhance their lives.

At its inception in October 2015, the program began offering Seeking Safety, the trauma-focused curriculum by Lisa M. Najavits. Quoting Ms. Najavitis: “Seeking Safety is an evidence-based treatment model that treats the co-occurring diagnoses of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Substance Abuse. Treatment focuses on both diagnoses. Each condition is seen as adversely affecting the other. This model creates a balance between exposure to dual treatment issues while avoiding exposure to significant trauma memories.”

Grounded in best practices, trained and credentialed staff deliver services of superior quality which attracts participants to our program and ensures that they are highly satisfied with their treatment and outcomes.
